VIALE Beauty, a Los Angeles based skincare company focused on developing caviar-infused, cruelty free beauty products, announced today that it would hire Taek Kim as their new Chief Design Officer. The prominent startup attracted the top executive from a well-known technology and healthcare company known for its groundbreaking innovations in the heath and design spaces. The Korean design and marketing expert will contribute more than a decade’s worth of experience in shaping some of the most recognizable brands in the world.

The Korean beauty regimen has been dictating the direction of the global beauty industry over the last few years. With the appointment of Taek Kim, the Los Angeles based startup aims to increase the popularity of the new premium focusing on the North American and Asian markets, and become a globally recognized beauty brand. As a Chief Design Officer, Taek Kim will be responsible for overseeing all design and innovation aspects of VIALE’s products and services, including product design, graphic design, user experience design, industrial design, and package design. The new member of the VIALE team will also be overseeing some aspects of advertising, marketing, and engineering. Other areas of the business sometimes overshadow design but multiple success stories prove that design is as important as every other aspect of the company. Having on board one of the most knowledgeable design professionals in the world is what will help VIALE elevate over the competition in the next few years.

Back in 2009, Taek Kim joined a then start-up local massage chair manufacturer. He has been leading the growth of the company ever since turning it into an entity valued at more than $2 billion. Almost all departments in the company were developed by him. When Taek joined the company they only had 20 employees and a net worth of less than $9,000,000 annually. Less than ten years later the result is one of the best performing healthcare brands in the world grossing annual sales of $500 million per year and having more than 1300 employees.


Founded in 2017, VIALE Beauty is a US based skincare company focused on clean beauty. The cruelty free skincare startup develops beauty products infused with caviar, horse placenta, and eight other exclusive ingredients, crafted in the heart of one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites – Jeju Island. The team consists of health specialists, designers, and beauty experts from all over the world including Korea, Italy, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. Roberto Cavalli Fall 2016 & The Darrell K Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer’s Disease

For one day (Tuesday September 13, 2016), football and fashion met on the same field, or in this case, the runway. What could possibly bring the gridiron and the catwalk together? During the legendary career of former University of Texas football coach Darrell K Royal, he was responsible for successfully leading the Longhorns to three national titles and an overall record of 167-47-5. Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli is synonymous with joy and optimism, with glamour and success; exotic designs that create a lifestyle. On the fashion runway of Neiman Marcus (Domain), the common goal for both was fashion with a cause, celebrating the first ladies of football who support the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease.

“We are excited to celebrate Edith Royal and Vicki Strong, two women who have made tremendous contributions to the Texas community,” said Jenna Leiker, event co-chair. “Edith Royal founded The Darrell K Royal Foundation in honor of her late husband, an organization we are proud to support.”

Coach Royal’s greatest opponent was Alzheimer’s Disease. The Darrell K Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer’s Disease (established in 2012) represents a commitment to excellence in research and care for Texans and a commitment to cure Alzheimer’s Disease in our lifetimes (

The fashion presentation featured Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2016 Collection, a stunning series of two major inspirations: art nouveau and glam rock (with a hint of the 70′s): dresses, jackets, capes, embellished denim, maxi coats, and beautiful pantsuits. Cavalli’s Fall show is described as “a dégagé ease” for the “nocturnal adventuresses”, or party lovers, in other words! The art nouveau richness brought with it fabrics such as velvet, lace, brocade, fur, and silk. The color palette featured mid-hues like deep-sea blue, tan, and purple mixed with royal colors like burnished gold, lavender, grape, scarlet, and robin’s egg blue with black. This event proved that fashion has heart and a cause; organized by event co-chairs Jamie Chandlee and Jenna Leiker. Guest were treated to an afternoon of champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and beautiful fashion…a truly great presentation by Neiman Marcus (Domain) and The Society Diaries Magazine; saluting The Darrell K. Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer’s Disease and honoring our First Ladies of Texas Football Edith Royal and Vicki Strong.

Celebrating the Art of Fashion

Thursday, September 8 was a night of fashion Austin will not soon forget.

To kick off Austin’s celebration of fashion, Neiman Marcus (Domain) and Lexus (Austin & Lakeway) celebrated the “Art of Fashion” featuring Austin Way Magazine’s release of their Fall Fashion issue. Each guest was greeted with the vibrant energy of music as trays of drinks were flowing with delightful cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres.

The audience received warm words of welcome from Vice President/General Manager of Neiman Marcus Chris Hendel. Editor-in-Chief of Austin Way Magazine Kathy Blackwell delivered a heartfelt presentation honoring the “Drivers of Style” (A.J. Bingham, Ane Urquiola Lowe, Blake Absher, Claire Zinnecker, Jordan Steele, Lauren Petrowski, and Noel Bridges) positive role models making an impact in our community; doing it all with style. Saving the best for last, the pièce de résistance was the fashion…oh my…the FASHION! Decadent luxury designer ensembles for both men and women covered the the runway; a fall feast for the eyes.

Fashionable guests enjoyed a Southern Style Brunch complete with a delicious assortment of fruit filled Danish, fanciful hors d’oeuvres, a variety of refreshing beverages and live music. Of course there was plenty of delightful conversation as guests took in the wonderfully organized experience. As an additional special touch, for those who purchased a copy of Camille Styles Entertaining, Camille eagerly and patiently signed each copy for guests who wanted a personal note inscribed into the cover of their book.
