Hilton’s $22 Million Upgrade Revealed

We are excited to share with you a sneak peek of downtown Hilton Austin‘s $22 million upgrade in celebration of their ten year anniversary. The renovations include all new furnishings, soft goods, accessories and artwork for all 800 guest rooms, 25 suites, The Executive Lounge and a 2nd Presidential Suite.  Currently the project is half way complete, with 400 of the guest rooms having undergone renovations.

The final remodel, provided by Dallas interior design firm, Looney & Associates, is expected to be completed by the end of the summer. The new style is as eclectic as Austin, fitting for both business and pleasure travelers. Sophisticated and modern are just a few words used to describe the design.  According to Hilton Austin’s Social Media Manager, Diana Nogueira, they have heard nothing but great raves and reviews.

“These changes provide travelers the latest in luxurious serenity and state of the art conveniences, including a bedside smart device that controls everything within the room, “ said Robert Watson, Hilton Austin’s General Manager.

Behind the scenes is a new energy management system (EMS) from Inncom By Honeywell. The EMS adjusts the temperature ranges in a room based on occupancy and also will shut off the lights in your room if it detects that no one is there. So if you left your room in a hurry and forgot to turn the lights off, the EMS has you taken care of. That’s just one less thing to worry about for guests!

Luckily, the renovations haven’t created much inconvenience for guests staying at the hotel. By only doing four floors at a time and only during the day, Hilton Austin has avoided disrupting guests during their stay.

“Our goal was to keep guest convenience top of mind and make the process as much of a “silent” renovation as possible,” Watson said. “Part of the Hilton Austin culture is going the extra mile to ensure guest-comfort and satisfaction. Because of this, guests have enjoyed their stay without the inconveniences commonly associated with a redesign of this scope.”

The renovated rooms are a recent following after the Hilton Austin’s latest pool-area remodel that was completed last fall with brand new cabanas, Moroccan tiles and it’s very own Skyline Pool Bar.

A four diamond award winning hotel, the Hilton Austin is conveniently located next to the Austin Convention Center at 500 East 4th Street. At the heart of downtown, Hilton Austin is within walking distance of shopping, dining and entertainment. The guest rooms are paired with a beautiful view of the Austin city skyline and Lady Bird Lake. You can stop by their cafe, Java Jive, for your favorite morning Starbucks® coffee fix.
