The much awaited ARTBASH 2017 at pershing hailed the start of East Austin Studio Tour (EAST) on November 11 at the pershing gallery thanks to the Art Alliance of Austin.
Twinkling like stars, white candles outlined the walkway leading toward the gallery and Pershing house. An outdoor area living room lounge was nestled next to DJ Westen Borghesi and a food table bringing the best of what happens indoors outside.
Nearby, complimentary drinks by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, 9 Banded Whiskey, Michelob Ultra, Ziegenbock, and Vitiano Wines greeted guests and enthusiasts.
The gallery exhibited some unique installations including interactive dance and site specific layered installations for a sensory rich, creative experience. Sparkling butterflies, people as art and large installations of animals and other mixed media surrounded guests.
Attendees were treated to the Pershing Home and courtyards along with a preview of the gallery designed with flow and space in mind. The impressive gallery also functioned as a exhibit for guests to mingle and partake of the overall creative ambiance.
Art aficionados delighted in reveling in the company of likeminded creatives while enjoying the well planned layout of the event space.
This event was a success prompting many guests to discuss the installations such as the exhibit displaying a white tub filled with orange flowers, a person in the tub, and phone lines running up and down the walls accompanied by telephone rings.
A number of artistically choreographed dances peppered the night. Onlookers created a circle as if enticed by the inclusive movement of the choreographs. The venue will then remain open to the public for both weekends of EAST this month.
